Environmental Monitoring Technician

Element has an opportunity for an Environmental Technician to perform environmental testing for controlled compounding, manufacturing, processing, and testing areas in support of our environmental monitoring group. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and interested in working externally at various client facilities and within our internal laboratory setting.


Element’s Life Sciences group supports developers and manufacturers in the antimicrobial, food and nutraceutical, medical device, and pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. We provide personalized testing solutions and regulatory consulting support to validate the safety and efficacy of our clients’ products at every stage of development, production and market release.


  • Performs environmental and utilities sampling as per USP, in-house, and/or customer methods
  • Environmental sampling will include viable microbiological surface, viable microbiological air, and non-viable particulate sampling
  • Utilities sampling will include water sampling and compressed air/gas sampling
  • Perform off-site sampling in support of our external client sites, and on-site within our in-house Sterility Testing suite
  • Perform periodic cleaning and disinfection of our Sterility Testing Cleanroom Suite

Skills / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in biological science or related science field
  • Able to successfully complete gowning and gloving qualification.
  • Experience with microbiological processes and aseptic technique
  • Experience working in a regulated environment (GMP or GLP)
