Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Wet Chemist to join our rapidly growing Life Sciences group. The primary function of this role is to assist the pharmaceutical department in testing, sample preparation and preparation of test reports.

 

Element’s Life Sciences group supports developers and manufacturers in the antimicrobial, food and nutraceutical, medical device, and pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. We provide personalized testing solutions and regulatory consulting support to validate the safety and efficacy of our clients’ products at every stage of development, production and market release. Responsibilities

  • Performs analytical testing of incoming raw materials, and release testing of pharmaceutical products
  • Performs (but not limited to) the following tests: Karl Fisher, loss on drying procedures, titrations, melting point, specific rotation, conductivity, potentiometric determination of pH, and other wet chemistry analyses
  • Conducts testing as per applicable regulatory and company guidelines
  • Ensures all documentation produced is in compliance with cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practice) standards
  • Keep accurate, legible, complete, defensible, and complete records of all experiments and observations as well as generates and completes accurate scientific reports for internal and external studies / projects based on established methodologies

Skills / Qualifications

  • Requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, or related field with minimum 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical industry or other cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practice) regulated environments
  • Knowledge of wet chemistry analytical techniques desired
  • Understanding of good laboratory practices and analytical techniques
  • Able to perform work under cGMP (Current Manufacturing Practices
