Accounting Manager

Element has an opportunity for an Accounting Manager to join our growing team. This role is key to the Americas Corporate function and will be responsible for several group-wide accounting and finance areas.  The role will be supported by a strong team, including a shared service center.  A successful candidate will partner closely with the Americas and Business Unit Controllers.


The primary responsibility of the role will be the ownership and accountability for the management and financial reporting of the corporate activities, as well as support with treasury operations and strategic projects. The Accounting Manager will also ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. This position will require effective leadership traits and managerial skills, while embracing a hardworking culture of continuous improvement, ensuring progress toward the attainment of ambitions company goals. 



  • Ensure that the company’s financials are maintained and are complying where appropriate with US GAAP and IFRS, including monthly account analysis and report in line with US and Group month end timetable
  • Lead and execute the month end close process activities, including but not limited to: Accounting for Cash, Debt and Notes payable, Benefits, Intercompany transactions, Exceptional items; Monthly / Quarterly reporting packs; P&L review; Variance analysis, Trend reporting, KPI tracking, Ad hoc reporting as requested
  • Maintain and improve standardized internal controls across the corporate entities
  • Monitor and forecast cash needs on an ongoing basis, including review of a monthly thirteen week cashflow forecast
  • Lead and/or participate in strategic projects
  • Provide support to the Americas Controller

Skills / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum 5+ years general ledger accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of technical accounting, internal and external reporting
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and to speak effectively before groups of  employees of organization
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts to provide needed financial analysis and accounting requirements
  • Strong Excel and Word skills
  • Experience with Microsoft AX and Microsoft FX a plus
