Facilities Engineer

Job Locations US-NC-Charlotte


Element has an opportunity for a Facilities Engineer to perform a wide variety of general building and equipment maintenance, repairs, and services.



  • Develop, schedule, and complete items included in the “Preventative Maintenance Program”
  • Coordinates and executes special projects as directed by the Facilities/Operations Manager
  • Assists in coordinating and monitoring work being performed by outside contractors
  • Completes maintenance projects during off shifts or shutdown periods when needed
  • Responsible for supporting facility status/inspections and alerting Leadership of unusual occurrences and/or damages that have taken place or that have the potential to occur (e.g. HVAC, chilled water, propane, and other building support infrastructure
  • Troubleshooting to include electrical, structural, plumbing and HVAC issues
  • Performs weekly facility maintenance and assist in monthly safety inspection
  • Responds to multiple maintenance requests from various departments

Skills / Qualifications

  • Extensive mechanical, plumbing, and electrical maintenance experience
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills to meet a variety of communication needs. Strong and effective interpersonal skills that foster open upward and downward communication built on mutual respect
  • Ability to interface with clients to determine their needs and provide a satisfactory outcome
  • Ability to interpret and adhere to the requirements of customer specifications
  • Independent thought and problem solving abilities including mechanical creativity and resourcefulness


NOTE:  This position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services.  U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, protected person status under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3), or U.S. Government export authorization is required.
