Interiors Test Technician

Job Locations US-MI-Warren


Element has an opportunity for a Test Technician (Interiors). The primary function of the Test Technician is to facilitate design/product validation test programs for our customer base.  As a member of the operation team this Test Technician position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments and insures timely and accurate results under direct supervision. In this role, you must be proficient in a number of core business skills including but not limited to safety rules, code of conduct and company policy and procedures. Work is to be performed in accordance with established QA procedures in conducting interiors testing.



  • Safely operate and maintain interiors test stands and related equipment in compliance with company policies and safety requirements
  • Oversee multiple projects in the fluids and hydraulics laboratories and responsible for day-to-day, including scheduling, updating client, and coordinating or reporting activities with supervisor or other team members
  • Interpret and work to several OEM test specifications, SAE and ASTM standards
  • Use of various data acquisition equipment
  • Use of hand tools and power tools required
  • Identify test equipment, lab facilities, and fixture resources to complete various testing per test plans
  • Review test data and present to customers (OEM and Tier 1 & 2 suppliers)
  • Work closely with other engineers/technicians
  • Self starter willing to put extra hours, as needed, willing to work in weekends as needed

Skills / Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering preferred
  • Minimum 1-3 years experience in automotive/testing field preferred
  • Interiors testing experience highly preferred
