Overview

Element has an opportunity for an Engineering Director to be the technical lead for pneumatic, hydraulic, and fuel testing. Will operate as the site Subject Matter Expert.

 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all safety aspects of testing on Jupiter laboraratory, ensuring that all risks have been assessed and addressed
  • Ensures Jupiter laboraratory delivers against a quality product on time and first time
  • Functions as the technical “guru” for all pneumatic, hydraulic, and fuel testing
  • Provides technical leadership and mentors engineering team
  • Provides technical support to Sales team for complex RFQs including for technically complex quotes/jobs, supporting technical conference calls with customers, and customer visits for important quotes RFQs
  • Manages special projects as assigned by Division Director
  • Assists in identifying facility improvements, technology gaps, and commercially sensible solutions to promote revenue growth
  • Supports and develops proposals for large Capex projects. Conducts independent review for commercial feasibility, capacity constraints, and cost/benefit analysis
  • Sells the full value proposition of Jupiter testing capabilities to prospective customers and assists in closing opportunities
  • Applies the principals of 5S (Sort, Set In Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain) in the performance of daily work responsibilities to ensure a clean, orderly, and safe work area

 

Skills / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from a four year college or university
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in Pneumatics (Hydraulics and fuel testing experience is a plus)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to maintain professional candor at all times and remain calm when faced with mounting pressure related to deadlines and multiple priorities
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills to meet a variety of communication needs. Strong and effective interpersonal skills that foster open upward and downward communication built on mutual respect
  • Ability to interface with customers to determine their needs and provide a satisfactory outcome
  • Experience working with Quality Management Systems (i.e. ISO 17025 and ITAR Regulations) and Trade Compliance Regulations (i.e. ITAR or EAR)
  • Proven ability to create and maintain strong professional relationships built on trust
  • Independent thought and problem solving abilities including mechanical creativity and resourcefulness
