Building Products Engineering Technician

Element has an opportunity for a Building Products Testing TechnicianThe primary function of this role is to perform testing on anchor bolts in concrete and all associated tasks related to quality and safety requirements under the direction of the Laboratory Supervisor.



  • Install anchor bolts per manufaturers published instructions
  • Use power tool and hand tool associated with installing concrete anchors and fixing wood or aluminum form work, as well as general lab work
  • Understand and perform testing in accordance with applicable test standards associated with concrete anchors
  • Input raw data into Excel or other data analysis software
  • Maintain established productions rates for performing anchor testing
  • Work independently when given instructions
  • Assist with equipment & materials inventory
  • Assist with pouring concrete slabs as needed
  • Maintain test equipment, tools and machinery, and promptly report any malfunctions
  • Maintain a clean, orderly and safe working environment

Skills / Qualifications

  • Associates degree in a Construction related field or equivalent experience
  • Must have valid Driver’s License, or ability to obtain prior to beginning employment. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, customer testing specifications, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively about standard procedures to customers
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions, data and details furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
