Overview

PCTEST Engineering Laboratory, proud to be part of Element, has an opportunity for IT Operations Lead supporting the Vice President of IT to ensure all systems are continuously updated, secured, maintained, and fulfill the needs for our teams and internal customers. Provides technical support to team members and internal customers. Installs technology including computers, software applications, networks, audiovisual equipment and printers. Identifies problems and provides advice or solutions. Supervises subordinate team members in IT.

 

Responsibilities

  • Supervises team members in IT, Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
  • Interviewing and training team members, recommends applicants for selection
  • Plans, assigns and directs work
  • Recommends performance ratings, recommends merit increases, promotions and reclassification Determines work quality expectations and sets deadlines
  • Monitors SOPs to ensure consistent exceptional service is provided
  • Develops, maintains and updates IT policies and procedures including those related to network usage and security to ensure business continuity
  • Participates in meetings with Managements Team to ensure weekly goals, challenges, and service standards are met
  • Supervises all aspects of the organization’s IT operations including security, data safety and integrity, and disaster recovery. Monitors system, network and application performance using industry standard tools and resources
  • Responds to requests from guests and team members for technical support
  • Assists technology users with the implementation, maintenance, and use of hardware and software packages
  • Assists internal customers with support and troubleshooting use of technology such as phones, projects, internet access, etc.
  • Responds to support calls from remote users in areas of VPN, remote desktop, mobile phones, Wi-Fi, etc.
  • Researches, evaluates, installs, configures, and troubleshoots all hardware, peripherals, software, and equipment necessary to meet company systems objectives
  • Troubleshoots networks, systems, and applications
  • Troubleshoots problems with different software packages, hardware devices, and other peripherals
  • Responds to hardware/software problems with corrective procedures
  • Uses diagnostic tools and troubleshooting processes to determine if problems are due to equipment, performs repairs and/or rebuilds broken equipment
  • Works with vendors to resolve complex problems
  • Configures security settings or access permissions as assigned
  • Follows strict privacy rules when handling sensitive or confidential data
  • Maintains records on hardware and software configurations and network performance and configurations
  • Maintains inventory and maintenance records on all hardware and software used throughout the property, tracks tasks and requests
  • Lead technical project support initiatives to ensure successful execution to support the business needs
  • Recommends merit decisions within budget or established guidelines. Recommends promotions or reclassifications within company policy
  • Writes, maintains, and updates user, system support, and other documentation, as necessary
  • Researches and provides information to management regarding new technology and equipment
  • Researches cost-effective and reliable vendor selection for hardware, software, and services

Skills / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, IS, or related fields is required
  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, or IS is preferred
  • At least 5 years IT or IS experience is required
  • AD Architecture, domain trust, red forest, group policy
  • Office-365 including Exchange, EMS, and Azure AD
  • Technical writing and presentation abilities, including preparing and maintaining system documentation, management briefings, and end user guides.
  • Experience working as a senior engineer in a large multinational company
