Intern, Human Resources Administrator

Element has an opportunity for a Intern, Human Resources Administrator to join our growing team. The primary function of the Intern, Human Resources Administrator is to undertake a variety of HR administrative duties including but not limited to record-keeping, training, auditing, and new hire onboarding.



  • Supporting Aerospace West locations; California, Oregon, Washington, and Colorado

  • Ensure onboarding check lists, access to ADP and timeclocks, and any other applicable IT systems are available on day one

  • Maintains hard copy employee records, including I9 paperwork, in designated secure locations

  • Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions regarding policies, communications,

    processes, and employee requirements

  • Redirecting and distribute HR related calls, employee questions or correspondence to the appropriate person on the team
  • Provide guidance to managers on employee disciplinary action as related to meal and rest period violation
  • Responsible for making sure that meal waivers are accessible to all non-exempt employees
  • Perform weekly audits of the time keeping system to ensure that penalty hours are being entered appropriately
  • Work closely with other HR Site Leads to ensure that all employee documents are being retained appropriately and time keeping processes are administered as directed
  • Assist with delivery of location specific HR related policies and procedures
  • Perform other administrative HR duties as assigned (i.e. benefits, on-boarding, performance management etc.)
  • Some local travel required

Skills / Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); must be a four-year college or university student majoring in Human Resource related function, preferably in junior or senior year of college/university
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one and one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the company
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but involved written or verbal instructions
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times while exercising good judgment
