Wind Lead & Soil Testing Technician

Job Locations US-WY-Bow


Element has an opportunity for a Wind Lead & Soil Technician . We are offering a car and living allowance to qualified candidates. In this role, you will provide leadership at your work site, you will will be responsible for the observation and testing of soil during the construction phase of Wind Turbine Projects and the reporting of test results


Work schedule is variable which may include nights and weekends. If you are not within 50 miles from the project site, this position will require travel up to 12 weeks at a time.



  • Observations and Testing of soil properties in the field and in our onsite mobile laboratory
  • Performing on site Excavation Observations and Proof Rolls
  • Performing Mechanical Analysis and Proctor Analysis of Soil Samples
  • Performing Static Cone Penetrometer Testing of Crane Pads and Excavations
  • Performing Dynamic Cone Penetrometer Testing of Roads, Crane Pads and Excavations
  • Performing Moisture/Density of compacted soils using a portable nuclear density gauge
  • Coordinating the testing team and crew on the job site and turning in reports to project
  • Performing Compressive Strength Testing of Concrete Cylinders

Skills / Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of relevant Soil Testing experience
  • ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade I Certification desired but not required
  • ACI Concrete Strength Certification desired but not required
  • Relevant Soil/Concrete Certifications from State DOT ACI NICET ICC or other related organizations helpful but not required
  • Project lead experience and good communication/reporting skills
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
    • No more than 2 moving violations within the past 3 years
    • No DWI/DUI violations within the past 3 years
  • Able to pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Ability to lift #50
