Non-Destructive Testing Technician, Level 2

Job Locations US-PA-Newtown


Element has an opportunity for a Level 2 NDT Technician whose primary function is to safely perform magnetic particle inspection, liquid penetrant inspection, and if qualified ultrasonic testing, and X-Ray unit radiography for our customers, typically performed in our local laboratory. Work is to be performed in accordance with established Safety and QA procedures, as well as customer specifications and requirements. May also perform routine testing in other areas of the lab.



  • Read and understand specifications and create proper inspection techniques
  • Conduct a variety of inspections using established methods. Most tasks are performed in the laboratory
  • Interprets, evaluates and documents test results; oversees work performed by trainees and Level 1 technicians
  • Prepares test specimens, sets up and adjusts test equipment and records test data
  • Maintain related test equipment, tools, and machinery in good working condition
  • Operate Fork Truck
  • May occasionally function in the role of Test Technician in other areas of the lab
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Skills / Qualifications

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED, experience in NDT or materials testing preferred. Minimum High School

  • Diploma or GED, experience in NDT required

  • 3+ years’ experience in Nondestructive testing

  • SNT-TC-1A and NAS410 or ASNT Level 2 Certification in magnetic particle, liquid penetrant required

  • Must have valid Driver’s License, or ability to obtain prior to beginning employment

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel)

  • Ability to remain calm when faced with mounting pressure related to deadlines and multiple priorities

  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills to meet a variety of communication needs

  • To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
