Overview

PCTEST Engineering Laboratory, part of the Element Group, has an opportunity for an Battery Associate Engineer/Test Engineer in our Columbia, MD location, to provide engineering, testing, evaluation, and analysis of battery cell, pack and host devices for compliance with industry standards. We are seeking individuals with strong technical skills.

 

Responsibilities

  • Test Cell, Pack, Host following CTIA Certification Requirements for Battery System Compliance to IEEE 1725, IEEE 1625, CTIA Battery Life, CTIA Hardware Reliability. Test Cell and Pack for UN Transportation certification.
  • Collect data and generate full test reports of CTIA and UN Transportation tests for review and submission.
  • Support various Research and Development assignments as required. Test Cell and Pack, according to the procedures outlined by the customers. Generate full test report as required.
  • Maintain all test data in a secure and organized fashion.
  • Compile and report test results using MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, etc.
  • Generate scripts (Python, Visual Basic) on Excel Macros for data automation.
  • Interface and communicate with other engineering teams in a technical and professional manner.
  • Work in a team environment, assist in development and improvement of test methodologies, reporting, coordination of various tasks, etc.

Skills / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or currently completing bachelor’s degree (Engineering or Engineering Technology Required)
  • Entry level, however, battery technology experience is preferred but not required
  • Experience with test equipment (power supply, oscilloscope, power meter) preferred but not required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and good spoken and written English
  • Flexibility and comfort working in quickly changing environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours, overtime and weekend hours as needed
  • Excellent attention to detail is required as well as excellent organizational and communications skills and advanced MS Office skills
