Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Non Destructive Evaluation (NDE) Level II Radiographer.  In this role, you will perform radiographic testing (RT) in the field as well as in our fast-paced NDE shop in accordance with industry and customer specifications.  You will also be responsible for training NDE Level I Helpers.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct radiographic tests to ensure quality or detect defects
  • Set up, utilize and calibrate NDE test equipment
  • Interpreting codes and specifications
  • Clearly and legibly reports test results
  • Use approved techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations
  • Professionally and effectively communicate with customers and third party vendors on a daily basis
  • Supervise and train NDE Level I Helpers in the field to ensure that they are operating in a safe and effective manner
  • Perform other job related tasks as needed

Skills / Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid drivers license, or ability to obtain prior to beginning employment required
  • Documented On the Job (OJT) hours or a Level II certificate from a previous employer required
  • Texas state radiation safety card required
  • Ability to work day and night shifts which will rotate throughout the department required
  • 80 hours of RT classroom training required
  • X-ray and gamma credentials required
  • Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card preferred
  • 2 years of NDE Level II radiography experience in the oil and gas or aerospace industries preferred
  • Computed Radiography (CR) and Digital Radiography (DT) experience preferred 
  • Ability to work without supervision and be an independent thinker where you will need to make on the spot decisions.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and have the ability to collaborate with personnel in order to complete projects on time.
