Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Technical Work Planner to join our growing team. This is a great opportunity to develop your career within a Global TIC business.

Responsibilities

  • Read, review, and interpret testing specifications based on customer purchase orders requirements 

  • Accurately determine testing required based on purchase orders, drawings, dimensional sketches, and other customer provided information

  • Determine if customer’s requirements and testing specifications are aligned or a discrepancy exists

  • Immediately notify appropriate personnel of discrepancies to determine how to proceed with the testing, minimizing lost time

  • Effectively communicate via written and verbal instructions to downstream employees performing required  work

  • Document and record pertinent information in the MRP system

  • Perform other duties

  • Enter orders into our MRP system accurately and efficiently

  • Assemble outgoing job travelers

  • Review and assign due dates into MRP system

  • Work with your peers to keep the working environment tidy and in accordance with 5S principles

  • Attend meetings as required by your Supervisor or other Senior Management

  • Contribute to continual improvement through Kaisen events, own initiative or other means

  • Adhering to Health & Safety and Quality standards at all times

Skills / Qualifications

  • Experience in interpreting testing procedures and requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to remain calm when faced with mounting pressure related to deadlines and multiple priorities
  • Well developed oral and written communication skills to meet a variety of communication needs
  • Good interpersonal skills that foster open upward and downward communication built on mutual respect
  • Ability to interface with clients, win new work and determine their requirements; helps develops proposals including cost estimates, work plan and terms and condition
  • Ability to liaise with clients and colleagues in a professional manner
  • Willingness to accept responsibility for their own work
  • Ability to priorities, organize and coordinate your workload
  • A self-motivated professional who can work well within a busy team as well as under their own initiative
  • The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Professional telephone manner
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Chemistry, metallurgy, Supply Chain, and mechanical testing knowledge is advantageous 

This position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services.  U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, protected person status under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3), or U.S. Government export authorization is required. Any offer of employment is contingent upon the employer obtaining the necessary export authorization, including, if required, an export license from the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security, the U.S. Department of State’s Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, or other applicable government agency.
