  • Senior EMC Engineer

  • Overview

    Element has an opportunity for an EMC Test Engineer to conduct a variety of tests, to include setup in accordance with customer, company, or regulatory standards, collecting and documenting test data and outcomes.


    • Conducts a variety of emissions and susceptibility tests, including setup in accordance with customer specifications, collecting and documenting test process and data, and reporting test outcomes
    • Performs tests in accordance with company policy and industry and regulatory standards
    • Understands customer orders, follows laboratory technical procedures and test specifications
    • Maintains in-depth knowledge of test standards, product test procedures, and instrumentation
    • Interacts with customers during the testing process, periodically assists with troubleshooting and development, and schedule modifications.
    • Maintains a professional courteous manner with all vendors, contractors, and fellow employees
    • Follows established Company policies.
    • Applies the principals of 5S (Sort, Set In Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain) in the performance of daily work responsibilities to ensure a clean, orderly, and safe work area
    • Abides by and ensures that all duties are performed in accordance with all Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE), Trade Compliance, and Quality practices, policies, and regulations
    • Maintains customer confidentiality at all times

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Electrical Engineering from a four year college or university plus three (3) to five (5) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Detailed knowledge of EMC principles and/or wireless technologies is desireable
    • Self-disciplined and self-motivated
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
    • Working knowledge of RF test equipment and familiarity with a wide variety of test equipment (spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.)
    • Ability to remain calm when faced with mounting pressure related to deadlines and multiple priorities
    • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills to meet a variety of communication needs. Good interpersonal skills that foster open upward and downward communication built on mutual respect
    • Ability to interface with clients to determine their needs and provide a satisfactory outcome
