  • Computed Radiographic Technician - Level II

  • Overview

    Element has an opportunity for a Computed Radiographic Level II Technician to conduct radiographic testing in accordance with company approved procedures while paying close attention to safety and project timelines. Specifically reading the radiographic images. Identifying indications, evaluating the indications per the acceptance criteria for the order and disposition of images and the part under test.



    • Conduct radiography (X-ray) tests using established methods in accordance with written company procedures
    • Prepares test specimens, sets up and adjusts test equipment and records test data
    • Analyzes and interprets test data verifying the information matches the work orders
    • Maintains related test equipment, tools, and machinery in good working condition
    • Works flexible hours and overtime when required
    • Complete reports using prescribed technology to include x-rays and computers
    • Provides excellent customer service when required
    • Performs other duties as assigned by the department supervisor or manager
    • Maintain a clean work station as well as participating in the cleaning and organizing of the darkroom on a weekly basis; will be assigned by the department manager
    • Follow the rules noted in the company employee manual at all times
    • Attend production meeting when required
    • Provide status updates of daily assigned jobs; information will be requested 4 to 6 hours after your shift begins
    • Follow company safety policies at times

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Experience with Radiographic processes
    • Experience testing some combination of: Welds, castings, steel, titanium and aluminum
    • Experience using industry specs such as: ASTM, Boeing, GE, Honeywell and Pratt
    • Ability to organize and document NDT results
    • Familiar with testing codes and standards
    • Must be able to read and write English
    • Approved 40-hour radiation safety course
    • ASNT Level II documented classroom hours.
    • Possess great organizational skills with the demonstrated ability to document NDT results well
    • Provide insight on technique development
    • Knowledgeable in digital image interpretation of casting
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
    • Ability to remain calm when faced with mounting pressure related to deadlines and multiple priorities
    • Well-developed oral and written communication skills to meet a variety of communication needs
    • To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
    • Must be able to pass General, Specific and Practical certification exams with minimal training
    • Program completion of technical trade training in an applicable subject and/or previous qualification or certification in Radiography
    • Technician must successfully pass RT Level I testing requirements within the first (6) months in his/her position, as required by NADCAP checklist AC7114.)


    This position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services. U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, protected person status under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3), or U.S. Government export authorization is required.
