  • Overview

    Element has an opportunity for Facilities Technician to join our growing team. The Facilities Technician is to safely perform building repairs, with emphasis on electrical troubleshooting, plumbing, and general construction. Technician must maintain accurate logs of facility equipment, perform PM’s of site machinery. 

    Responsibilities

    • Perform a full range of skilled maintenance and repairs on all facility related items, able to project a time  frame of completion, generate material lists and complete a Job Safety Analysis prior to starting jobs
    • Inspect facilities systems, fixtures & complete daily rounds, provide periodic servicing
    • Perform preventative maintenance and repair on Facility Machinery equipment
    • Perform routine cleaning of pumps, motors, chillers, boilers, and other related equipment
    • Perform heavy labor, such as moving equipment or furniture; Use safe work practices and procedures, to include proper lifting and carrying methods, and the proper use of hand and power equipment, tools, and supplies
    • Use computers and applicable software, including facilities and maintenance software, word processing, databases, email, and calendaring, must be pro-efficient with a smart phone or tablet device
    • Communicate clearly both orally and in writing sufficient to receive and convey instructions to perform the duties of the job, manage vendors and coordinate jobs.  Assist Safety coordinator and participate in the company safety program
    • Completes daily, weekly and monthly checklists on building’s maintenance and maintains records of scheduled maintenance
    • Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required
    • Purchases supplies, equipment, and materials necessary to complete projects
    • Acquired quotes from vendors for projects
    • Enter, monitor and request PO’s
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Experience in Facility Project
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel)

    • Availability, flexibility, and maturity to represent the company at a broad range of events/projects in the community, with customers and within the company

    • Ability to remain calm when faced with mounting pressure related to deadlines and multiple priorities

    • Well-developed oral and written communication skills to meet a variety of communication needs. Good interpersonal skills that foster open upward and downward communication built on mutual respect

    • Ability to interface with site staff, department managers, review scope of work, capture material, safety and duration to projects

    • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time; to local vendors for material pick up

    • Fork Lift Operations, and Hazardous Waste Management Experience

      Experience machinery preferred but not necessary 
    • Qualify for Fork Lift certification

    • Qualify for respirator certification

    • Must have valid Driver’s License, for commercial vehicle operation

    This position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services.
