  • Overview

    Element has an opportunity for a UT Technician to inspect and disposition parts as acceptable or rejectable. Technicians are required to ensure systems are calibrated and inspect components with Ultrasound to identify subsurface defects.

    Responsibilities

    • Safely operate Immersion UT automated system and acquire data to disposition disk based forgings
    • Be capable of analyzing C scan data as well as A-Scan presentations
    • Basic computer skills are required such as proficiency with Microsoft operating systems and office Candidates must have the aptitude to program fully automated systems and utilize multiple programs at the same time
    • Strong knowledge base in TCG and E-Dac setups. In depth experience with indication evaluation and flaw characterization is critical for part dispositioning. Must be capable of working from written practice as well as utilizing industry standard specifications
    • Technician is responsible for conducting daily calibration of systems as well as assisting in annual linearity's and mechanical calibrations according to customer specifications

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Experience in interpreting testing procedures and requirements
    • Lvl II UT technical/vocational training as per SNT-TC-1A and NAS 410
    • 1-3 years experience in the NDT field preferably in a UT Lvl II position
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel)
    • Availability, flexibility, and maturity to represent the company at a broad range of events/projects in the community, with customers and within the company
    • Ability to remain calm when faced with mounting pressure related to deadlines and multiple priorities
    • Well-developed oral and written communication skills to meet a variety of communication needs
    • Good interpersonal skills that foster open upward and downward communication built on mutual respect
    • Ability to adapt to the occasional schedule change to meet customers’ deadlines

    NOTE:  This position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services.  U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, protected person status under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3), or U.S. Government export authorization is required.
