  • Overview

    Element has an opportunity for Senior Project Manager to lead a 12 month turn-around project in our Jupiter, Florida location. In this role you will lead a team and work together with the local management team to improve the performance of this site. You will report to the operations director of the division and charged with the task to increase the operational performance and profitability. Besides project management and business tools, you will use Lean and operational tools like: 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, set-up time reduction, short interval management and change management.


    • Responsible turn around project management plan and reporting on progress, including planning of Lean improvement activities
    • Sparring partner and coach to the General Manager and his management team
    • Implement planning & Scheduling of projects
    • Improvements and standardization in set-up of new tests
    • Rigorous 5S (workplace & safety)
    • Closed loop performance measurement including short interval management (SQDC)
    • The measurement of progress and targeting of results from improvement projects
    • Proactive and effective communication related to the program and improvement initiatives
    • Mobilize commitment for change and ensure the changes made are sustainable
    • Assisting Champions and Process Owners with project selection and project management
    • Methodically address root cause of a problem or failure while documenting problem solving process and root cause identification
    • Training, development and coaching of Management and General Manager
    • Provide management information and overview on progress, results and issues

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations management, or related field
    • Master’s degree considered a plus, but not required
    • Minimum 10 years in business of which at least 4 years spent in interim management or management role
    • Project management and / or lean certification from recognized governing body, institution, or business entity
    • Must be experienced in managing complex and sensitive issues
    • Project Management and Business Management skills to manage the turnaround process, leading to exceptional quality of service and turnaround, and continuous improvement
    • Competent use of statistics related to Business Improvement metrics
    • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively deal with management team and employees; foster open upward and downward communication within the organization built on mutual respect
    • Well developed and effective verbal and written communication skills used in working with peers and employees at all levels of the organization
    • Broad knowledge of operations, engineering, and financial management
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, education and instructional materials, and procedure manuals and interpret data and distinguish between correlation and causation
    • Ability to create clear and concise presentation materials, emails and other forms of written communications
    • Ability to calculate KPIs such as On Time Delivery, Lead Time, First Time Right, and Incident Rate
    • Must have valid driver’s License, or ability to obtain prior to beginning employment
    • Fluent Spanish not required but considered a plus
