Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Project Engineer to join our rapidly expanding team. As a member of the operations team, the primary function of the Project Engineer is to interface between the customer and the Operations team, providing detailed schedule updates and ensuring the project plans are adhered to. The secondary function of the Project Engineer is to initiate, design, and lead technical projects to test customer products by creating the technical road map that satisfies the customer requirements. When acting as a Test Lead, works closely with Test Technicians/Engineers and customers, acting as the primary POC as the program moves through each phase.

 

Salary: $65,000 - $95,000/yr DOE 

 

Responsibilities

• The Project Engineer works closely with an experienced Operations and Engineering leadership team, along with cross-functional laboratory personnel, to successfully execute projects across multiple lab functions and technical disciplines.
• Manages projects from inception through completion and owns the customer experience.
• Delivers revenue, manages WIP and invoicing for all assigned projects.
• Manages scope of all assigned projects with an opportunistic mindset. Issues and negotiates change orders when appropriate.
• Provides technical and schedule adherence updates of ongoing projects to customers and the Operations Manager. Owns an SQDC board or assists in running other areas’ SQDC meetings.
• Responsible for understanding and controlling project costs & revenue. Owns on time delivery.
• Applies the principals of 5S (Sort, Set In Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain) in the performance of daily work responsibilities to ensure a clean, orderly, and safe work area.
• Abides by and ensures that all duties are performed in accordance with all Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE), Trade Compliance, and Quality practices, policies, and regulations.
• Maintains client confidentiality at all times.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university plus three (3) to seven (7) years of relevant experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze and interpret customer testing specifications, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar project management certification desired but not required.
