Overview

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of facility systems and specialized testing infrastructure. This role supports safe, reliable operation of building systems and test environments through preventative maintenance, corrective actions, and coordination with vendors and property management as needed.

 

Salary: $25- $30/hr DOE 

 

Responsibilities

Facility & Equipment Maintenance

  • Perform routine and corrective maintenance on building systems including:
  • HVAC systems
  • Electrical systems (certification preferred)
  • Plumbing systems
  • Deionized (DI) water systems
  • Compressed Dry Air (CDA) systems
  • Cooling towers and chilled water loops
  • Liquid nitrogen supply systems
  • Perform hands-on repairs and minor installations; assist with larger repair efforts as directed
  • Support maintenance needs for specialized testing environments
  • Follow preventative maintenance schedules and document completed work
  • Identify equipment issues early and recommend corrective actions

Vendor & Contractor Coordination

  • Assist in coordinating vendor and contractor access for repairs, inspections, and service work
  • Monitor on-site vendor activities to ensure work is completed safely and to required standards
  • Communicate issues or deficiencies to facilities or management leads

Safety & Compliance

  • Perform all work in compliance with company safety policies and procedures
  • Report safety issues, near misses, and facility hazards promptly
  • Coordinate with the Site Safety Leader to address and close out facility-related safety actions
  • Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas

Skills / Qualifications

Required / Preferred Skills

  • Electrical systems knowledge (certification preferred)
  • Mechanical and building maintenance experience
  • HVAC systems knowledge
  • Plumbing systems experience
  • Strong troubleshooting and repair skills
  • Safety-conscious mindset
  • Forklift operation experience (or ability to obtain certification)
  • Time management and reliability
  • Ability to follow preventative maintenance programs (TPM experience a plus)
  • Basic understanding of facility layouts and infrastructure systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Ability to lift, climb, bend, and stand for extended periods
  • Comfortable working in mechanical rooms, rooftops, and lab environments
  • On-call or flexible hours may be required for urgent maintenance needs
