Element HB is searching for a self-motivated , experienced scientist to lead the chemistry team. This role will report directly to the Department Manager, and Operations Manager, and will involve direct laboratory work supporting data generation, and training of staff as well as oversight of projects and mentorship of team members.

Salary: $70K-$90K/yr
Core responsibilities:
• Manage analytical workloads and resources including personnel and equipment.
• Develop, motivate, and mentor analytical chemistry team members.
• Assist in resolving technical issues with complex technical projects.
• Manage walk-up analytical instrumentation.
• Maintain excellence in safety, health, and environmental practices.
• Manage multiple complex priorities with demanding time frames.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement both in technology and safety.

• A bachelor’s degree in chemistry preferred, biology or related field
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a supervisory role in an industry similar or related to the Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) industry.
• Technical acumen in multiple analytical chemistry techniques with significant expertise in method development for higher level analytical instrumentation.
• Sound analytical problem-solving skills with experience in ICP, AA, GDMS, PSD, DSC, Dilatometer, and LECO.
• Demonstrated project execution, organizational, planning, and time management skills.
