Overview

The primary function of the Senior Engineering Lead is to oversee the Engineering team, including planning, scheduling, and assigning projects and establishing successful relationships with customers. The Senior Engineering Lead will also consult and provide engineering design work per customer specifications.

 

Salary: $135,000- $160,000/yr DOE 

 

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direct all activities of the engineering department including planning and managing technical performance to ensure quality and business objectives are achieved
• Provide expertise necessary to assist in the designing, planning, execution, analysis, and reporting phases of test programs in accordance with customer specifications
• Participate in the teaching of the three lightning courses offered by our facility
• Participate in the preparation of proposals, proposal work statements and project specifications
• Responsible for ensuring work is accomplished in a timely manner
• Maintain contact and relationships with customer contacts and participate as necessary to cultivate new accounts.
• Ensure Quality System requirements are being met by all department personnel at all times
• Ensure compliance with all Company policies
• Ensure adherence to all local, state, and federal laws pertaining to safety, environment, and corporate governance
• Ensures productivity including performance management (OKRs)

Skills / Qualifications

• Minimum of 4-year degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics
• At least 8 years of work-related experience
• Previous experience leading and managing an engineering team
• Experience with high voltage circuits a plus
• Experience with lightning and lightning protection design a plus
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to review performance, identify problems and implement solutions
• An understanding of ISO 17025 is desirable but not essential
• Flexibility to travel on an as needed basis
• Experience with computer modeling, simulation and circuit analysis is desirable
