The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for the accurate, efficient, and compliant handling of all incoming and outgoing materials, parts, and products. This position supports all operations by ensuring that materials and components are received, inspected, stored, and shipped according to company standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
Salary: $23- $28/hr DOE
• Prepare, package, and label outgoing shipments in compliance with company procedures, customer requirements, and applicable export control regulations (ITAR/EAR).
• Generate shipping documentation including packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of conformance, and export documentation as required.
• Coordinate pick-ups and deliveries with freight carriers and couriers to meet schedule demands.
• Verify shipment accuracy against work orders, sales orders, or customer instructions.
• Maintain shipping logs and update ERP/MRP system with shipment details.
• Receive incoming materials, components, and equipment from vendors and customers.
• Inspect incoming shipments for accuracy, quantity, and potential damage; report discrepancies to Quality or Purchasing.
• Enter receipts into ERP/MRP system and route materials to designated locations.
• Coordinate with Quality Assurance for incoming inspection and material release.
• Tag and store materials in proper locations, ensuring traceability and compliance with inventory control procedures.
• General Warehouse & Inventory Support
• Maintain organized storage areas and support inventory cycle counts.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment safely.
• Support kit preparation and material staging for production as needed.
• Follow company safety policies and maintain a clean and secure work environment.
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives in logistics and inventory processes.
Required:
• High school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of shipping, receiving, or warehouse experience, preferably in aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing.
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, or similar).
• Knowledge of packaging standards, shipping methods, and carrier requirements (UPS, FedEx, etc).
• Ability to read and interpret purchase orders, packing slips, and technical documentation.
• Basic computer proficiency (MS Office, shipping software).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Preferred:
• Experience handling aerospace hardware or ITAR-controlled materials.
• Understanding of export control compliance (ITAR/EAR).
• Valid forklift certification.
• Experience with lean warehouse practices or 5S methodology.
