Overview

The NDT Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and proposals for non-destructive testing and inspection projects. This role requires a strong understanding of NDT methods, industry standards, client specifications, and project scope in order to deliver competitive, detailed, and compliant quotations. The estimator works closely with operations, project managers, and clients to ensure cost-effective and efficient delivery of inspection services.

 

Salary: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00/yr DOE 

 

Responsibilities

  • Review client specifications, drawings, and tender documents to determine NDT requirements, scope, and applicable standards.
  • Evaluate labor and material costs to produce accurate proposals within specified deadlines.
  • Liaise with clients to clarify technical and commercial requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with operations and scheduling teams to confirm resource availability and project feasibility.
  • Maintain an up-to-date database of equipment rates, material costs, and labor charges.
  • Analyze project risks and propose mitigation strategies in cost models.
  • Support business development activities by providing technical input.
  • Participate in post-bid reviews and handover meetings to ensure smooth project execution.

Skills / Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Business, Engineering, Inspection, or related technical field preferred.
  • Experience in NDT, inspection services, or estimating within a similar industry required.
  • Strong understanding of NDT techniques, procedures, and equipment preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
