Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Quality Engineer (with SHE Responsibilities) to join our growing team. This onsite role is responsible for maintaining operational elements of the Quality Management System (QMS) and Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) Program, including leading continuous improvement and 5S projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality assurance within materials testing, combined with a proactive approach to workplace safety and compliance.

 

Salary: $100,000 - $110,000/year DOE 

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Support proficiency and round robin testing
  • Support calibration program by performing in-house calibrations and maintaining equipment records
  • Maintain the Approved Vendor Listing (AVL) database
  • Perform statistical process control (SPC)
  • Conduct gage repeatability and reproducibility (R&R) studies
  • Support and/or lead internal and customer audits
  • Lead cross-functional root cause/corrective action teams to resolve errors and address underperforming trends
  • Lead continuous improvement and 5S projects
  • Support the Safety Leader with assigned SHE-related duties
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager

Skills / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science or technical discipline, or equivalent experience (10+ years of experience) 
  • 5 years’ experience in a materials testing capacity
  • Experience interpreting complex testing procedures and requirements
  • Excellent technical writing and documentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Strong background in statistical analysis, root cause analysis, and measurement uncertainty
  • Expert-level understanding of QMS accreditation standards (ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 17025)
  • Experience with aerospace manufacturing OEM requirements (Boeing, GE, Rolls Royce, Nadcap, etc.)
  • Proficiency in basic algebra and geometry
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence across functions
  • Calm, organized, and professional under pressure
