Element is seeking a Senior Electro Dynamics Service Technician for the Technical Services Group (TSG) within Element Product Qualification Testing (PQT). TSG is responsible for overseeing standardization and ensuring technical excellence across the entire network of Aerospace and Energy PQT laboratories. As an Electrodynamic Service Technician, you will manage all service and repair needs for a fleet of over 50 electrodynamic systems. This role requires frequent travel to 10+ key locations throughout the U.S. and Canada to provide hands-on support and maintenance.
The service technician will work out of one of our primary dynamics test facilities (Huntsville Alabama, Boxborough Massachusetts, or Longmont Colorado) but will also support the entire North American region. This position requires to be on the road 70-80% of the time, which may include overnight stays, weekend work, and travel on short notice.
Salary: $45- $55/hr DOE
• The ED (electrodynamic) repair technician shall be able to diagnoses, maintain and repair ED shaker systems from a variety of manufacturers including but not limited to Unholtz-Dickie (UD), Ling Dynamic Systems (LDS), IMV, MB Dynamics and Ling.
• Key duties also include troubleshooting and repairing complex issues. Disassembling, cleaning, and inspecting components like flexures, shear mounts, bearings and field coils, repairing or replacing worn or defective parts.
• Implementing a yearly shaker and amplifier maintenance program.
• Ensuring the safe and correct operation of the shaker systems and implement system safety requirements to mitigate identified hazards with the test system.
• Documenting all maintenance and repair work performed on the shaker systems.
• 5-10+ years of experience repairing and maintaining E-D shaker systems
• Candidates must be either a U.S. citizen or a green card holder and possess a valid passport.
• A strong understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to perform detailed physical repairs.
• A strong understanding of electronic systems, including amplifiers, field supplies, and control systems.
• The ability to methodically diagnose complex problems and develop effective solutions.
• The ability to clearly explain complex technical information to colleagues and customers. Experience with common shaker system brands and associated control hardware is highly beneficial
• Communicate effectively with part vendors to ensure timely delivery and proper ordering.
• Knowledge of and experience with the service, maintenance, and repair of electrohydraulic shakers is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
