We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Mechanical Test Technician to join our team on a part-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining mechanical testing equipment to evaluate materials, components, and products in accordance with established procedures, standards, and safety requirements. This role is ideal for someone with a technical background who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and ensuring high-quality testing results.
Salary: $22- $25/hour (Depending on Experience) + $3.00 Shift Differential
Perform mechanical testing on materials and components (e.g., tensile, compression, hardness, fatigue, and vibration tests).
Set up, calibrate, and operate test equipment and data acquisition systems.
Prepare test specimens, fixtures, and test setups according to test procedures.
Record, analyze, and document test data with accuracy and attention to detail.
Support engineers and quality teams in interpreting results and troubleshooting issues.
Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized laboratory/test area.
Assist with preventive maintenance and calibration of test equipment.
Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and efficiency.
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or technical certification in Mechanical Technology, Engineering, or related field preferred.
Hands-on experience with mechanical test equipment (Instron, MTS, or similar) is an advantage.
Basic understanding of mechanics, materials, and measurement principles.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) or similar software for reporting.
