Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-conscious Computed Radiography (CR) Level I Technician to support our non-destructive testing (NDT) operations. The CR Level I Technician will perform image acquisition under the supervision of a Level II or III technician, following approved procedures and industry standards. This role is ideal for individuals beginning their career in NDT who demonstrate a commitment to precision, safety, and professional growth.

 

Salary: $21- $25/hour (Depending on Experience) + $1.00 shift differential 

Hours: Monday to Friday, 2:00 - 10:30pm

Relocation Bonus available. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Perform computed radiography inspections in accordance with written instructions provided by a Level II or III.
  • Operate CR equipment, digital detectors, and imaging software to capture and process radiographic images.
  • Set up and calibrate CR equipment under direct supervision.
  • Adhere to all safety requirements, including radiation safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of inspections, exposures, and results.
  • Assist with the storage, archiving, and retrieval of digital images.
  • Maintain work areas, tools, and equipment in clean and operational condition.
  • Immediately report unusual indications, equipment malfunctions, or safety concerns to the supervising Level II/III.
  • Support continuous compliance with applicable codes, standards, and company procedures.

Skills / Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of formal training in Computed Radiography (meeting ASNT SNT-TC-1A, NAS-410, or equivalent program requirements).
  • Minimum classroom and practical training hours completed for Level I certification.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow written procedures precisely.
  • Basic computer literacy for digital image handling and reporting.
  • Physical ability to lift equipment, work in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods.
  • Commitment to radiation safety practices and continuous learning.
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior exposure to NDT or radiography environments.
  • Familiarity with applicable industry codes and standards (e.g., ASME, ASTM, API).
  • Current or prior OJT (on-the-job training) hours logged toward Level I or II certification.
 
Work Environment
  • May involve travel and overtime as project demands require.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs of equipment and materials as part of normal job duties.
  • Field and shop settings with varying environmental conditions.
  • Use of radiation safety equipment and adherence to strict safety protocols required.
