The CNC Mill Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC milling machines to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Salary: $22 - $25/hour DOE + $1.00 for shift differential
Set up and operate CNC milling machines in accordance with setup sheets, blueprints, and work instructions.
Load and secure raw materials, tools, and fixtures for machining operations.
Monitor machine operations to ensure parts meet dimensional and surface finish specifications.
Make minor program edits and adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
Inspect parts using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Maintain accurate production and inspection records.
Perform routine machine maintenance, including cleaning and lubrication.
Identify and report equipment malfunctions or quality concerns to supervisors.
Follow company safety rules, wear required PPE, and maintain a clean work area.
Collaborate with programmers, engineers, and quality control staff to improve processes and solve production issues.
High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational training in machining preferred.
1–3 years of experience operating CNC milling machines (experience with [insert machine brand/model] a plus).
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T symbols.
Proficiency in using measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, height gauges, etc.).
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to work shifts, overtime, or weekends as required.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Standing for extended periods during shifts.
Frequent bending, reaching, and handling of materials.
Good manual dexterity and hand–eye coordination.
