Element has an opportunity for a Department Lead/ Etch Level III who will direct personnel to set up, operate and maintain equipment, to perform etch and to interpret, evaluate and document the results in accordance with internal procedures and customer requirements. The Etch Level III will be responsible for ensuring the team achieves the metrics set by management.
• Assure proper application of the Etch Inspection System by processing and inspecting hardware with the team daily.
• Responsible for the training and qualification of Etch inspection personnel at scheduled intervals.
• Responsible for establishing, reviewing and maintaining techniques, schedules, and calibration procedures.
• Designate Etch method specifications and techniques to be used and assure they are carried out as defined.
• Initiate changes for compliance; and assuring that the proper method spec., CODE, and Quality Standards are being applied per customer purchase order requirements.
• Prepare and grade examinations for certifying all applicable levels of Etch personnel.
• Report up and down the capacity and throughput activities in the department on a daily basis to ensure adequate metrics are obtained.
• Direct department staff in achieving daily revenue goals while meeting all other metrics.
• Conduct or direct the training and examination of personnel in the method certified.
• Responsible for setting up, operating and maintaining equipment, to perform Etch with the team daily.
• Lead department team in safety compliance and identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Conduct, perform and direct personnel in 3rd party and customer auditing to a ‘zero findings’ standard.
• Responsible for interpreting, evaluating and documenting the Etch results in accordance with procedures developed by Element and approved by the customer and all site customer and NADCAP audits.
• Maintain related test equipment and tools in good working condition.
• Must have the ability to assist in capacity planning i.e. standard times, process and procedure improvements.
• Control inventory of consumables
• Complete assigned tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
• Vision Requirements - Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, normal color vision and the ability to adjust focus. Impairments of vision are acceptable if corrected to acceptable levels with appropriate devices (glasses)
• High school graduate
• Etching metal plating experience a plus
• Technician must successfully pass certification exam within the first (6) months in his/her position, as required
Work is performed mainly in a non-climate-controlled processing environment.
