The Dynamics Test Technician (1st and 2nd Shift) supports the engineering and testing teams by preparing, executing, and documenting dynamic tests on components and systems. These tests will include vibration, shock, acoustic, fatigue, modal, and structural testing. The technician ensures proper setup, instrumentation, data acquisition, and compliance with test procedures and safety protocols.
Salary: $20- $30/hr DOE
-Set up and operate vibration test systems (e.g., electrodynamic shakers, hydraulic actuators, slip tables)
-Install and calibrate test instrumentation such as accelerometers, strain gauges, displacement sensors, and load cells
-Assist in preparing test articles, including mounting fixtures and applying instrumentation
-Conduct tests based on specifications, drawings, and procedures (e.g., MIL-STD, RTCA DO-160, ISO standards)
-Monitor data acquisition systems and ensure accurate recording of test results
-Troubleshoot and resolve setup, instrumentation, or system issues during testing
-Work closely with test engineers to validate data and adjust test setups as required
-Document all setup parameters, calibration data, and test conditions accurately
-Maintain and calibrate test equipment and instrumentation regularly
-Ensure a clean, organized, and safe test environment
Qualifications:
-Associate degree or technical diploma in mechanical, aerospace, or electrical technology (or equivalent experience)
-2+ years of hands-on experience in dynamic or structural testing preferred
-Familiarity with vibration test equipment and control systems (e.g., LDS, Unholtz-Dickie, IMV, Data Physics)
-Understanding of test instrumentation and data acquisition systems
-Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
-Basic knowledge of signal processing and data analysis is a plus
-Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic technical software tools
-Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
-Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced test environment
Working Conditions:
-Hands-on work in a lab or test facility, with occasional lifting of heavy components
-May involve extended periods of standing, and occasional off-shift or weekend work depending on test schedules
-Requires use of PPE and adherence to strict safety protocols
