Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Quality Engineer to join our rapidly expanding team. This role is responsible for maintaining operational elements of the Quality Management System (QMS) within a team of Quality professionals.

 

Salary: $70,000 - $85,000 DOE 

 

Responsibilities

• Calculate and report quality performance metrics
• Support control system over both internal (procedures, manuals, forms) and external documents (specifications, standards, drawings)
• Perform and/or facilitate review of technical specifications, standards, and drawings for incorporation into internal documents and records
• Maintain training and qualification records for team of 200+ technical personnel
• Support quality-related inquiries from both lab personnel as well as customers
• Support cross-functional root cause / corrective action teams to resolve errors and correct underperforming trends
• Support proficiency and round robin testing through material procurement, order management, and result reporting
• Support and/or lead internal and customer audits
• Perform data gathering and analysis to support special projects
• Maintain the Approved Vendor Listing database (AVL)
• Support calibration system maintenance by managing deadlines within a database of approximately 4,500 assets, coordinating services with calibration vendors, and verifying calibration certification data
• Perform other related duties, as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager

Skills / Qualifications

• 2-year associate degree in a science or technical discipline or equivalent experience
• Experience interpreting testing procedures and requirements
• Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
• Familiarity with statistical analysis, root cause analysis, and measurement uncertainty principles
• Familiarity with and ability to interpret Quality Management System accreditation standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 17025
• Experience with aerospace manufacturing OEM and accreditation requirements (Airbus, GE, Rolls Royce, Nadcap, etc.) preferred
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry a plus
• Work independently and effectively with little supervision
• Able to prioritize work and keep key stakeholders informed of progress
• Adept with delegating tasks to lab and/or management personnel in support of quality compliance activities
• Availability, flexibility, and maturity to represent the company at a broad range of events/projects in the community, with customers and within the company
• Ability to remain calm when faced with mounting pressure related to deadlines and multiple priorities
• Well-developed oral and written communication skills to meet a variety of communication needs
• Good interpersonal skills that foster open upward and downward communication built on mutual respect
