Overview

We are seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager to drive growth within the Aerospace & Energy sectors, with a particular focus on key accounts in Chicago.

 

This role is responsible for developing and executing strategic sales initiatives, managing key accounts, while fostering strong relationships with key decision-makers. The ideal candidate will possess a technical background with sales experience and a passion for expanding business opportunities.

 

Pay: $75k-125k + Sales Compensation Plan/Bonus - DOE

 

Responsibilities

  • Drive Revenue Growth – Develop and execute a sales strategy to meet and exceed revenue targets for Aerospace and Energy sectors
  • Customer Acquisition & Expansion – Identify new business opportunities and expand relationships with existing customers by understanding their testing needs.
  • Technical Sales Engagement – Communicate Element’s capabilities, value proposition, and competitive advantages to technical and commercial stakeholders.
  • Market Development – Research and analyze industry trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Pipeline & Opportunity Management – Maintain an active sales pipeline, prioritize high-value opportunities, and drive opportunities from lead to close using CRM tools.
  • Collaboration & Cross-Selling – Work closely with operations, technical teams, and other sales functions to provide comprehensive testing solutions for clients.
  • Account Management & Retention – Develop long-term partnerships by ensuring client satisfaction, handling escalations, and driving repeat business.
  • Industry Representation – Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to represent Element and build strategic partnerships.

Skills / Qualifications

  • 5 + years successful technical sales experience
  • Engineering background in electrical, mechanical or materials science is strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of destructive and non-destructive testing methods, standards, and applications is desired
  • Experience interpreting laboratory testing procedures and requirements highly desired
  • Ability to navigate complex sales cycles and build trusted relationships at all organizational levels.
  • Proven ability to bring in new business and drive revenue growth
