Overview

Element has an opportunity for an Associate Electrical Lab Test Technician to join our rapidly expanding team in Gainesville, GA. As a member of the operations team at Element Gainesville, the Associate Test Technician position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments focusing on safety' performance testing and failure analysis of batteries for automotive, aerospace, consumer electronics, medical devices, wearables, and other applications.  

Responsibilities

  • Set up, manage and drive to completion various battery testing projects, primarily on lithium ion batteries
  • Proficient using various lab equipment such as power supplies, multimeters, data loggers and temperature chambers
  • Manage and oversee multiple projects at a time
  • Use test procedures, schematics or provided documentation to execute testing
  • Communicate directly with engineers to ensure a high level of technical support
  • Compile test results and support test report development
  • Support technical root cause analysis and resolution of issues found during testing
  • Simple fabrication/modification of basic test fixtures
  • Actively participate in laboratory housekeeping and safety (5S)

Skills / Qualifications

  • Associate degree or Higher preferred
  • Lithium ion battery test experience preferred
  • Lab or test equipment experience preferred
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Good communication and analytical capabilities
  • Requires Microsoft office skills, especially Excel
  • Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams
