Overview

Element has an opportunity for an EMC Test Technician with a strong focus on RF wireless testing to join our Brooklyn Park, MN location. As a member of the operations team, the primary function of the EMC Test Technician will be to focus on conducting compliance testing (setup, measure, and document results) on a wide variety of products while interfacing with customers on a daily basis. The most common radio products include, but is not limited to, Wi-Fi, BT, NFC and Cellular radios. You should possess a basic understanding of the following standards: EN 55032, EN 55035, FCC 15B, IEC 60601-1-2, ETSI EN 301-489-1, EN 300 328, EN 301 893, ANSI C63.10, FCC 15C, RSS-GEN.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct a variety of EMC and RF tests which includes setting up test equipment and customer equipment, performing testing to applicable standards or test plans, and accurately documenting the testing process and outcome
  • Understand customer test plans and how to properly follow laboratory technical procedures and test specifications
  • Setup test equipment and follow written specifications necessary for the proper performance of the test
  • Maintain appropriate knowledge of test standards, product test procedures, and instrumentation
  • Accurately observe and records test progress and results. Organize and document data for each assigned project

Skills / Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1-2 years working in product testing with specific experience in EMC Testing
  • Proven ability to use EMC test equipment such as EMI receivers, Anechoic Chambers, Spectrum Analyzers, etc.
  • Experience testing devices with wireless capabilities (i.e., Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, NFC, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge in the radio test standards for North America, Europe, Japan, and South Korea
  • Customer service experience
  • Willingness to travel
  • Willingness to work OT when needed
