Materials Test Technician - 2nd Shift

Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Materials Test Technician to join our rapidly expanding team. As a member of the operations team in one of the various laboratories across Element. The technician positions must be proficient in a number of core business skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.

 

Responsibilities

  • Perform metallurgical sectioning, mounting, polishing, and routine evaluations
  • Evaluations include grain size, coating thickness, machining artefacts, hardness
  • Ability to read and understand customer specifications and perform the testing required
  • Possess the ability to work alone periodically throughout the work day with supervision
  • Able to develop a proven ability to set up and perform a variety of tests according to customer specifications

Skills / Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED certificate preferred
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a testing related field preferred
  • Working knowledge of laboratory safety preferred
  • Possess computer skills. 
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Must be a US citizen
