Responsibilities

Verify and operate on wireless handhelds to ensure compliance with wireless standards and carrier specified requirements. Assist engineering team to carry out testing of mobile device software, focusing on multiple platforms, including Android, Windows, and OEM specific standards. Execute field test cases focused on the voice and mobility network interoperability on new and/or existing devices. Investigate and log common technical issues found during tests and submit daily reports. Capture logs of new and existing issues found in the field, document the issues and steps for reproduction, and/or escalate the issues with the Team Lead and/or development engineers for resolution. Travel domestically up to 50% of the time.

Skills / Qualifications

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field. Demonstrated knowledge in telecommunications. Knowledge may be demonstrated through education, training, and/or experience. Alternatively, the Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree or the foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field, plus 2 years of experience working in a software testing occupation.

 

The required experience in software testing must include:

  • 2 years of experience working with wireless technologies, such as GSM, UMTS, LTE, CDMA, or HSPA.
  • 2 years of experience applying wireless data protocols such as GPRS/EDGE, USPA, GPRS, networking infrastructure, or other packet-based networks; and
  • 2 years of experience working on Qualcomm and MTK chipsets for logging and software debugging.
  • 2 years of experience with wireless device field testing and troubleshooting.
  • 2 years of experience performing tests on Mobile devices on specific test plans in live network environments.
  • 2 years of experience driving to different network environments to perform testing.
  • 1 year of experience using Quality Center or Defect management tool.

 

Domestic travel required up to 50% of time. Must have a valid driver’s license.
