Overview

Element has an opportunity for a 2nd Shift Test Technician, preparing samples and performing various testing on different materials used in the automotive industry. The primary function of the Technician is to perform sample preparation, execute tests and experiments per established procedures, delivery/collection of results and preparation of test reports. The Technician position reports to the Department Supervisor, performing work within an independent environment, ensuring that tests and experiments are completed timely, within budget, and with a high level of professionalism and customer service.

 

Responsibilities

  • Test Technician will be responsible for the setup and performing crash test on “Test Dummies”.
  • Accurate placement of test dummies and child seats into vehicle seats.
  • Follow test procedures and protocols.
  • Recording data using computer tools or spreadsheets.
  • Setup of seats and test bucks for testing, using common hand tools.
  • Disassembly and reassembly of vehicle seats-cinching seats with hand tools.
  • Assembling wire harness for testing.
  • Driving test vehicles on defined routes for data collection.
  • Working with “live” test subjects in seats to record data.

Skills / Qualifications

  • Accurate data entry/recording.
  • Must have basic computer skills using Microsoft Excel and Outlook/Email.
  • Must be able to work 2nd shift 3:00pm-11:30pm-Monday-Friday. (Will train on 1st shift 2-3 weeks).
    Familiar and capable using standard hand tools.
  • Physically able to life, place and manipulate child seats and test dummies.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs-100lbs (please note we have tools that assist with lifting).
  • Able to follow test procedures.
  • Attention to detail.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a lab or testing environment.
