Overview

Element has an opportunity for an Electronics Test Technician at our lab in Pittsfield, MA. Element Pittsfield is an international leader in the development and verification of successful lightning protection for customers in the Aerospace, Wind, Solar, Maritime, Electric Power Generation and transmission, Oil and Gas, and many other industries.The Primary responsibility of the Electronics Test Technician is to perform EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) tests, and use standard and precision instrumentation to take measurements of electronic, electro-mechanical equipment and subsystems in an EMI laboratory setting.

 

$25-30/hr 

 

Responsibilities

  • Test Setup - Read specifications from technical documents (Test Standards, Customer SOWs, and Test Plans/Procedures), identify/prepare test equipment
  • Perform Testing - Monitor tests per specifications, interact with customers if needed, troubleshoot, and document all pertinent data
  • Data Processing - After test completion, verify, review and document all pertinent data. Finalize data and send to the Program Manager
  • Lab Maintenance / Post-Test Breakdown - Physically remove test items. Maintain lab by cleaning all equipment, keeping calibrated instruments current, & organizing supplies
  • Other - Perform other duties as assigned

Skills / Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or GED. Technical Certification, AA or AS in Electronics/Electrical preferred
  • 0-3 Years of Experience
  • Ability to complete basic technical and mechanical procedures under close supervision
  • Ability to assist with basic troubleshooting & test interpretation, and test result analysis
  • Ability to understand AC/DC circuits
  • Be comfortable with client interaction
  • 80% local and overnight travel required
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of DMM, Oscope, power supplies;
  • Possess working knowledge of basic safety practices
  • Possess basic mechanical and MS Office skills
