Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Senior Corporate Accounting Manager.  As the Senior Corporate Accounting Manager, you will manage a set of accounting activities to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, corporate policies and external audits.

 

The Senior Corporate Accounting Manager will report to and work closely with the Accounting Director and others in the organization in analysis and reconciliation of accounts and in development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures and controls.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations and report preparation
  • Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changes.
  • Continued focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices
  • Participate in strategic financial projects including D365 FO rollout
  • Ensure compliance with internal control policies in a SOX environment
  • Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance
  • Interacts at all levels and with budget owners or other stakeholders to produce timely, efficient and accurate month-end close and all internal management and financial reporting
  • Responsible for hierarchy and scalability in chart of accounts and accuracy in the general ledger
  • Analyze the effect of statutory accounting practices and studies regulations and guidance to ensure correct application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Make recommendations for changes as needed and ensure that company policies and procedures are followed and establishes the proper techniques to discover and prevent fraud
  • Assist with compilation of information for preparation of tax returns
  • Ensure overall coordination of all Treasury activities
  • Prepare summary feedback of financial statements variances to budget
  • Actively review and advise on financial/accounting processes

Skills / Qualifications

  • BS or BA in accounting. CPA or equivalent.
  • 6 + years of relevant accounting experience
  • Public Accounting experience is highly desired
  • Experience supervising accounting staff
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with excellent attention to detail. Ability to interpret, disseminate and present information to a variety of internal and external audiences in a way that informs and influences their decision making.
  • Experience of establishing and developing performance monitoring tools and reports for different audiences.
  • Proven ability to think and plan strategically and achieve buy-in from the senior leaders in the organization.
  • An enthusiastic and flexible approach: able to work closely and adaptively with the immediate team and collaboratively across the entire organization
  • Experience of working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in partnership with people at all levels, demonstrating strong skills in constructive challenge, facilitation, collaboration, networking and influencing.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills including the ability to balance and independently manage workload that includes multiple concurrent priorities.
  • Self-motivated, able to set and deliver to deadlines.
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Outlook, Word, Power Point and Excel in particular).
  • Ability to coordinate multiple, often demanding deadlines and multiple priorities
  • Excellent organizational, time management and project management skills, including the ability to work efficiently on numerous tasks simultaneously and to adapt to changing circumstances, often under time pressure.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Must be able to work in our Blue Ash office (hybrid)
