Overview

Element Ann Arbor has a great opportunity for a Proteomics Scientist to join our Method Development and Characterization team. The individual must be proficient in protein biochemistry, protein mass spectrometry (bottom up and top down proteomics), and hands on LC-MS/MS experience and analysis.

 

Responsibilities

  • Perform lab work on innovative and custom projects for customers
  • Develop and execute analytical methodologies, including, but not limited to proteomics such as bottom-up and top-down LC-MS / MS
  • Write up the method as developed in procedures and customer-facing reports
  • Method developed by the scientist must meet the intent of the project, and robust enough for validation
  • Transfer the method upon completion to Method Validation department and guide any and all troubleshooting
  • Mentor and provide cross-training to junior analysts

Skills / Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Biochemistry or Chemistry preferred
  • 2-5 years of experience in proteomics
  • Highly proficient in working with proteins, nucleic acids, and small molecules
  • Effective scientific writer (experience with report writing)
  • Effective time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Must be a flexible, adaptable, self-driven team player with a positive attitude
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
