Principal Engineer

Job Locations US-TX-Houston


Element has an opportunity for a Principal Engineer to perform a wide variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments insures timely and accurate test results under minimal direct supervision. Principal engineer positions must be proficient in a number of core business and technical skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.



  • MUST have ability to be key contributor to defining and focusing Element goals and objectives in alignment with his/her specific engineering discipline
  • HAVE an advanced ability to define solutions for and lead extremely complex challenges and new projects
  • Serve as a key or top-level technical advisor and should be recognized as an expert in their given technical discipline within Element and/or the global TIC sector
  • Will be asked to provide technical direction to technicians and other level Engineers
  • Will be asked to provide input on performance review of technicians and other level Engineers

Skills / Qualifications

  • Will have at least 10 years' relevant experience post-degree or higher academic qualifications
  • Possess advanced knowledge of the theories, principles and concepts of polymer science, polymer engineering, especially with respect to areas such as mechanical properties of materials, friction and wear, fatigue, and related areas
  • Possess moderate to advanced knowledge of applications of polymers in energy, aerospace, and potentially automotive/industrial industry sectors
  • Have proven track record and demonstrated ability to lead the development of integrated technical solutions for internal or external customers, involving materials
