Building Systems Technician

Overview

Element is looking for a highly motivated Technician/Technologist to conduct various building performance tests including the setup and analysis of test results to well defined standards and/or standard operating procedures. This position involves sample preparation, physical testing, scheduling, equipment maintenance / calibration, client interaction and report writing.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Participates in client correspondence and project coordination
  • Coordinates testing of medium to large scale test specimens
  • Understanding of test requirements as per relevant standards and specifications
  • Purchase materials and maintain equipment
  • Perform computer thermal modeling of Window and Door systems, internal training provided

Skills / Qualifications

  • Completion of a College or University program in Engineering or Technology
  • Minimum 1 yr experience in similar field
  • Experience with AutoCAD
  • Ability to read and understand customer specifications and perform the testing required. May schedule customer visits for test review and customer resolution(s)
  • NFRC simulation experience is an asset
  • Experience with common construction power tools
