Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Non Destructive Evaluation (NDE) Level I Helper.  In this role, you will assist NDE Level II Technicians in radiographic testing (RT) in a fast paced, project orientated, and team environment.  You will primarily work in the NDE laboratory and may be required to work in the field on occasion with a Level II or Level III Technician.

Responsibilities

  • Performing radiography under the supervision of NDE Level II or Level III 
  • Completing assigned tasks in a safe and efficient manner
  • Interacting and communicating with customers and third party vendors
  • Able to clearly and legibly report test results
  • Able to pass a Level I exam
  • You will be expected to obtain your Level I certification with the first ninety 90 days and will paid for by Element
  • Field work may also be required
  • Overtime is required, weekends and occasionally on holidays

Skills / Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid drivers license, or ability to obtain prior to beginning employment
  • Level II certificate from a previous employer
  • Ability to work day and night shifts which will rotate throughout the department
  • 80 hours of RT classroom training
  • Texas state radiation safety card preferred
  • Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card preferred
  • 1 year of NDE / NDT radiography assistant or helper experience in the oil and gas or aerospace industries preferred
  • Computed Radiography (CR) experience preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the customer

This position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services. U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, protected person status under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3), or U.S. Government export authorization is required. Any offer of employment is contingent upon the employer obtaining the necessary export authorization, including, if required, an export license from the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security, the U.S. Department of State’s Office of Defense Trade Controls, or other applicable government agency.
