Overview

Element has an opportunity for a 2nd shift Fluorescent Penetrate Inspector (Trainee) to perform Liquid Penetrant Testing using specific techniques on aerospace products. Uses knowledge of products, manufacturing processes, equipment set-up, and NDT methods to process parts for inspection following specific operating procedures. Interprets and evaluates test results. No experience needed, will train onsite.

 

Responsibilities

  • Review routers, procedures, specifications, drawings and other instructions for completeness and instructions to perform operation Process part(s) in accordance with procedures and technical instructions to evaluate for welding, machining, cold forming, and/or casting discontinuities exceeding requirements specified
  • Set-up, operate, calibrate, and perform Process Control Checks on NDT (Liquid Penetrant Test) equipment by following established instructions and record results
  • Interpret, evaluate, and report evaluation results as required
  • Maintain required job skills and knowledge of requirements (including procedures, specifications, etc.)

Skills / Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Familiar with testing codes and standards
  • Experience in interpreting testing procedures and requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Availability, flexibility, and maturity to represent the company at a broad range of events/projects in the community
  • Ability to remain calm when faced with mounting pressure related to deadlines and multiple priorities
  • Well developed oral and written communication skills to meet a variety of communication needs

NOTE: This position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services. U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, protected person status under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3), or U.S. Government export authorization is required.
